“This wine has the characteristic youthful green-yellow straw color found in ROCO Chardonnays. Aromas of citrus blossom, pear fruit, brown turkey fig, and lovely spice leap out of the glass to greet you. This wine was built for aging with a bold mineral core wrapped by rich comice pear, a hint of citrus starfruit, and cashew nut, leading to a promise of white peach with a touch of Tahitian lime in the middle palate.  The finish is opulent without going heavy. This is a seamless, cool climate Chardonnay.” - Rollin Soles, Winemaker

There are profound notes of bosc pear blossom alongside fresh rose petal with a hint of chamomile on the nose. The palate is electric with a refreshing acidity framed by a citrus lemon crème and the promise of nectarine and honeycomb in its age worthy future. 2015 Knudsen Vineyards Chardonnay

 

WINEMAKER’S TASTING NOTES

“The warm 2015 summer produced ripe, luscious fruit flavors and texture. In combination with Knudsen Vineyards late ripening, high elevation and an acid-saving cold front at the end of August, these elements all converged to produce this fantastic Chardonnay. The aromas are a mix of Asian pear and honey-crisp apple fruit with characteristically cool region spice, vanilla, white flower complexity. The flavors are a seamless, full throttle, ripe tree fruit of white nectarine and comice pear. Yet they still have lively acidity and minerality, which are definite palate players. The finish travels forever. Enjoy this wine as an aperitif and notice the refreshing acidity. Then, carry it into a meal to bring out the vanilla and nectarine succulence.” - Rollin Soles, Winemaker
